Under Review
Under review means Google has not yet completed the relevant ad or asset review. This is a review state, not an approval, rejection or account suspension. The useful starting point is the item’s current status and the time of its latest submission or edit.
This category is part of Review & Eligibility in our Google Ads documentation. Use it to distinguish the issue type before choosing a detailed guide.
What is being reviewed
Review can concern ad content and the advertised destination. Google’s guidance explains that creating or editing an ad or asset starts review. A launch record should therefore include the final destination and the latest content version, rather than only the date the campaign was first created.
Why timing needs context
Most reviews are completed within one business day, while complex reviews can take longer. The detailed guides explain timing and edits. Avoid treating a weekend or a series of recent edits as equivalent to an unchanged item waiting through several full business days.
What to record before investigating
Keep the item ID, submission or modification time, current status and any policy explanation. Check whether the destination is complete and available. List subsequent edits separately so the team can distinguish the original submission from a later review cycle.
How to approach a review delay
Use the current official review-status instructions for the relevant ad format. A support request is more useful when it identifies the actual item and time elapsed. Repeated speculative edits can make the history harder to understand; first identify whether a correction is required.
Category review checklist
- Confirm the item remains under review rather than disapproved.
- Identify the latest saved change, not just campaign creation time.
- Test the actual destination and record errors.
- Keep account restrictions separate from item-review status.
