Google Ads stuck under review
Google Ads documentation › Review & Eligibility › Under Review
A review taking longer than expected should be assessed using the ad format, current status and latest edit time. Do not count time from campaign creation if the item has been changed since then.
Confirm the issue
- Record the affected ad or asset ID and format.
- Find the latest submission or edit time.
- Check policy details and any separate account task.
- Count full business days and retain the review history.
Review and correction workflow
Google’s guidance says many reviews finish within one business day, with longer windows for certain formats and complex reviews. Compare the specific situation with the current official review instructions. Check status before assuming that an unchanged dashboard represents a fresh delay.
Avoid a chain of unnecessary edits that obscures the timeline. If escalation is appropriate under the relevant guidance, provide the item, format, latest submission and status. A correction should address a real issue, not be a repeated attempt to force priority.
Illustrative review example
An asset was created last week but edited yesterday. Its current review history needs to include yesterday’s change.
Is there one guaranteed review deadline for all formats?
No. Review complexity and format matter. Use the current format-specific instructions and distinguish a normal review from an unresolved restriction.
Verify the outcome
Keep the original notice, the evidence reviewed and the action taken in one dated record. Confirm the resulting status in the affected account or item. A completed internal checklist is evidence of your review; it does not override Google’s decision.
Related checks and next steps
First establish whether the item is actually disapproved or still under review. If a policy decision exists, use policy-notice identification to choose the correct response.
