Google Ads account suspended for misrepresentation
Google Ads documentation › Account Issues › Account Suspensions
A misrepresentation suspension applies to the account, while the underlying concern can involve the business, offer or destination. Use the precise policy named in the notice; the word misrepresentation covers more than an exaggerated headline.
Confirm the issue
- Record each policy named in the suspension notice.
- Map the advertised business, service provider and payer.
- Compare claims of identity, affiliation and outcomes with supporting evidence.
- Review the complete enquiry or purchase journey, not just the landing-page header.
Review and correction workflow
Build a factual business explanation before rewriting copy. Identify who delivers the advertised service, who receives enquiries and what the customer is promised. Where a statement is inaccurate, correct all relevant instances and retain the evidence behind the correction.
If the decision appears mistaken, explain the specific facts that support that view. If corrections were made, describe their relationship to the notice. A cosmetic disclaimer is not a universal remedy, and no template can establish facts the business cannot support.
Illustrative review example
An intermediary presents itself as the direct service provider. A useful review examines the actual relationship and visitor impression, rather than only replacing a word in the ad.
Can I fix only the advertisement?
Only if the evidence establishes that the issue is limited to that element. Account-wide concerns can require a broader business and destination review.
Verify the outcome
Keep the original notice, the evidence reviewed and the action taken in one dated record. Confirm the resulting status in the affected account or item. A completed internal checklist is evidence of your review; it does not override Google’s decision.
