Google Ads account spending limit
Google Ads documentation › Account Issues › Account Restrictions & Holds
An account-level spending restriction is different from the daily budget configured for a campaign. Low spend alone does not prove that Google has imposed an account limit; identify the actual notification or confirmed account condition.
Confirm the issue
- Check the account notice for a stated restriction.
- Compare account-wide behavior with individual campaign budgets.
- Separate outstanding billing tasks from bid-strategy delivery limits.
- Record the amount and scope only if the account or support confirms them.
Review and correction workflow
Create an observation record using the same date range across campaigns. Note whether all otherwise active campaigns are affected and whether there is a relevant notification. Ask the administrator to check account alerts before changing several campaign settings at once.
Use the task or support route attached to a confirmed restriction. Increasing campaign budgets cannot independently remove an account-level control. Avoid replacing payment identities or using another account as a supposed universal limit-removal trick.
Illustrative review example
Several campaigns stop spending at a similar point. This is a reason to investigate the account, but it is not conclusive evidence of a particular hidden cap.
Is an automatic payment threshold the same thing?
No. A billing threshold concerns when a charge occurs; a campaign budget and a confirmed account spending restriction have different roles.
Verify the outcome
Keep the original notice, the evidence reviewed and the action taken in one dated record. Confirm the resulting status in the affected account or item. A completed internal checklist is evidence of your review; it does not override Google’s decision.
Related checks and next steps
Compare limited by budget for a campaign funding constraint. If ads are eligible but not serving, use no-impression diagnostics to investigate other delivery conditions.
