Google Ads limited by budget status
Google Ads documentation › Review & Eligibility › Limited by Budget, Bid & Learning
Limited by budget describes a campaign funding constraint, not a policy rejection. The correct response depends on business priorities and the campaign’s bidding configuration; it is not always to increase spend.
Confirm the issue
- Confirm the status belongs to the campaign.
- Review budget, bidding targets and the relevant reporting period.
- Check conversion measurement and business cost boundaries.
- Separate campaign funding from account spending restrictions.
Review and correction workflow
Document the objective before changing the budget. A business may prioritize a cost ceiling, volume or a particular value target. Assess the recommendation against those goals rather than treating greater spend as automatically better.
Make deliberate changes and compare suitable periods. Google’s target-based bidding behavior has changed over time, so use current guidance for the strategy in use. Keep the budget and bid-target decisions distinct in the change log.
Illustrative review example
A campaign has profitable volume but the business cannot fulfil more orders. A budget increase may not match the operating objective even when the platform recommends it.
Will increasing budget fix a disapproved ad?
No. A policy decision needs the relevant content or review response. Funding and policy eligibility are different constraints.
Verify the outcome
Keep the original notice, the evidence reviewed and the action taken in one dated record. Confirm the resulting status in the affected account or item. A completed internal checklist is evidence of your review; it does not override Google’s decision.
