Google Ads eligible limited status
Google Ads documentation › Review & Eligibility › Eligible & Eligible (Limited)
Eligible (limited) at ad level means the ad can serve only within the applicable restrictions. Read the detailed policy explanation before treating the label as a budget problem or an account-wide serving limit.
Confirm the issue
- Confirm that the label belongs to the ad or asset rather than the campaign.
- Read the specific policy and affected locations or audience conditions.
- Compare targeting with the permitted scope.
- Check for separate account notifications.
Review and correction workflow
Document the restriction and decide whether it is expected for the offer. Some restricted advertising can run only under defined conditions; the objective is not always to remove every limited label. Review the relevant policy instead of changing bids to solve a policy constraint.
Where the restriction appears incorrect, use the associated review route with evidence. Where a correction is needed, address the identified element and verify the resulting status. Continue monitoring campaign delivery separately.
Illustrative review example
An ad is restricted by a product policy while its campaign also has a small budget. These are separate constraints and require separate decisions.
Does limited mean completely disapproved?
No. The detailed label and policy determine when the ad can serve; disapproved is a different state.
Verify the outcome
Keep the original notice, the evidence reviewed and the action taken in one dated record. Confirm the resulting status in the affected account or item. A completed internal checklist is evidence of your review; it does not override Google’s decision.
Related checks and next steps
Compare limited ad serving for an account-level qualification notice. For a campaign funding constraint, use limited by budget instead of an ad-policy appeal.
