Google Ads limited ad serving
Google Ads documentation › Account Issues › Account Restrictions & Holds
Limited ad serving restricts impressions in certain scenarios under Google’s qualification assessment. It is different from an individual ad being disapproved or an ad-level Eligible (limited) policy label.
Confirm the issue
- Confirm that the account notification actually names limited ad serving.
- Separate qualification assessment from campaign budget and bidding constraints.
- Check requested advertiser-verification tasks.
- Review the business identity and consistency of the advertised experience.
Review and correction workflow
Use the notification and Google’s current limited-serving guidance to identify the applicable route. Keep legitimate business details accurate and address outstanding verification or compliance issues. Do not assume a fixed number of days or a particular amount of spend guarantees qualification.
Google describes ongoing assessment rather than a guaranteed removal date. Where the official appeal route applies, explain the account and evidence accurately. Continue to distinguish serving restrictions from other reasons a campaign may have low traffic.
Illustrative review example
An advertiser with approved ads receives a limited-serving notification. Editing each ad as if it were disapproved can miss the account-level assessment.
Is this the same as an AdSense limit?
No. This guide concerns advertisers using Google Ads, not publishers monetizing inventory with AdSense or AdMob.
Verify the outcome
Keep the original notice, the evidence reviewed and the action taken in one dated record. Confirm the resulting status in the affected account or item. A completed internal checklist is evidence of your review; it does not override Google’s decision.
Related checks and next steps
Compare Eligible (limited) when the label belongs to a particular ad. Use Verification Issues for a separate assigned advertiser-verification task.
