How to Appeal Google Ads Decisions
A Google Ads appeal asks for a policy decision to be reviewed. It should identify the decision being challenged and the facts supporting the request. The right process differs between ad or asset decisions and account suspensions.
This category is part of Fix Guides in our Google Ads documentation. Use it to distinguish the issue type before choosing a detailed guide.
Choose the relevant appeal route
Start with the notification for the affected item or account. Do not assume an ad-level appeal changes a separate account suspension. Record the scope of the decision and the policy named before drafting an explanation.
Correction and disagreement are different grounds
If changes were needed, describe what changed and why it addresses the issue. If the decision appears mistaken, explain the evidence for that conclusion. A request that mixes an admission, an unrelated change and a blanket denial can be difficult to evaluate.
Prepare evidence that answers the notice
Recommended material includes affected IDs, relevant URLs, screenshots of the corrected experience and supporting business documentation when requested. Keep each item tied to a specific point. More attachments do not necessarily make an explanation clearer.
Track the decision and next action
Keep the submission date, scope, status and result. Review rejected or duplicate outcomes before submitting again. Use the current official limits and support instructions; there is no general-purpose appeal wording that guarantees approval.
Submit and track an ad-policy appeal
- Open Policy manager from the Troubleshooting area of Tools, or select the affected ads and choose the policy-appeal action.
- Select the reason that matches the facts: disputing the decision or reporting changes made for compliance.
- Check Appeal history for the status and item-level result, including partially successful outcomes.
Limits and older decisions
For the same ads or campaigns, allow at least 24 hours between appeals. After three unsuccessful appeals for an ad, contact support before another appeal. Since 21 July 2026, policy decisions older than six months require the support route instead of an in-account appeal. These ad-policy instructions should not be substituted for a separate account-suspension process.
Read Google’s current appeal instructions and limits before submitting.
Category review checklist
