Google Ads advertiser and payer details do not match
Google Ads documentation › Account Issues › Verification Issues
An advertiser and payer can have different roles, but a verification request may require those roles to be explained accurately. A mismatch investigation should identify the task and records involved rather than assuming every difference is prohibited.
Confirm the issue
- Identify the end advertiser, payments-profile entity and agency separately.
- Record which name or relationship the task asks you to establish.
- Compare current account details with authentic supporting documents.
- Check whether ownership or a payments-profile change is actually needed.
Review and correction workflow
Create a role table with the legal entity, function and supporting evidence for each party. An agency’s management role should not be confused with ownership of the advertised business. Review the task instructions before changing billing information across accounts.
Where the account details are incorrect, use the official correction or support process. A legitimate relationship should be documented, not hidden by inventing a common identity. Track the verification result separately from payment success.
Illustrative review example
A client owns the business while an agency handles billing administration. The explanation needs to describe both roles and the actual payment arrangement.
Does a successful payment prove verification is complete?
No. A completed transaction and an accepted advertiser-verification task are separate outcomes.
Verify the outcome
Keep the original notice, the evidence reviewed and the action taken in one dated record. Confirm the resulting status in the affected account or item. A completed internal checklist is evidence of your review; it does not override Google’s decision.
Related checks and next steps
Compare payment-method verification when the task concerns billing evidence. Use business operations verification when Google asks who provides the advertised service.
