Google Ads ad disapproval versus asset disapproval
Google Ads documentation › Review & Eligibility › Disapproved Ads
An ad disapproval and an asset disapproval identify different affected entities. Locate the exact item and its associations before deciding how broadly the issue blocks delivery.
Confirm the issue
- Record whether the notice belongs to an ad, asset or association.
- Identify where a shared asset is used.
- Read every policy attached to the affected item.
- Check the containing ad and campaign statuses separately.
Review and correction workflow
Build a small affected-item list with IDs, names and placements. Names alone may be duplicated, so keep the stable identifier. If the issue is in a shared asset, review each relevant use and destination rather than assuming only the visible ad is affected.
Make the correction at the appropriate level and follow the item-specific review route. Then verify the asset, ad and intended delivery state. A clean asset does not resolve an unrelated campaign or account restriction.
Illustrative review example
A sitelink asset is flagged while other ad components remain eligible. Treating the whole account as suspended would send the investigation down the wrong path.
Does one rejected asset always stop every ad?
The impact depends on the item and format. Check the actual statuses and associations instead of assuming a universal account-wide effect.
Verify the outcome
Keep the original notice, the evidence reviewed and the action taken in one dated record. Confirm the resulting status in the affected account or item. A completed internal checklist is evidence of your review; it does not override Google’s decision.
Related checks and next steps
