Google Ads unreliable claims disapproval
Google Ads documentation › Policy Issues › Misleading & Unsupported Claims
An unreliable-claims disapproval concerns an inaccurate or improbable outcome presented as something users can normally expect. Review the complete impression created by the ad and destination, not just whether one sentence can be defended in isolation.
Confirm the issue
- Identify each result, speed, certainty or low-effort promise.
- Compare the promise with the evidence supporting it.
- Review testimonials and conditions alongside the headline.
- Check the specific product policy as well as the claim wording.
Review and correction workflow
Build a claim-to-evidence table. Record the exact statement, where it appears, what it implies and the evidence for that implication. An exceptional anecdote should not silently become a typical-outcome promise.
Correct unsupported statements across all affected locations. Qualifications need to be relevant and visible, but a disclaimer is not blanket permission for a prohibited claim. Use the review route after addressing the actual concern or explaining a supported dispute.
Illustrative review example
A service promises a guaranteed result while its own terms list substantial conditions. The review should examine the combined promise, not only add a footer sentence.
Does having one successful customer prove a general guarantee?
No. The evidence must support the actual claim made to the audience, including the impression that a result is typical or assured.
Verify the outcome
Keep the original notice, the evidence reviewed and the action taken in one dated record. Confirm the resulting status in the affected account or item. A completed internal checklist is evidence of your review; it does not override Google’s decision.
